BIP & Intervention Strategies

Below is a sample BIP with intervention strategies that I got to study and implement based on my FBA/Data on the student in my practicum and her previous existing information.

The intervention strategies that I found most helpful and got to observe/implement the most while working with the student was; the R & R breaks, the separate space when needed, and reminders before transitions and tasks.

The rest and relaxation breaks were very helpful for Ava when she began to display behaviors, and they were even used in a way to prevent behaviors. Ava was provided these breaks when needed during the day where she would go to the R & R room and use the supplies in the room to help explore her senses and reduce stress. In the R & R room there is an area where the door can be shut and the student can be offered a separate space to use R & R supplies.

The reminders before transitions and tasks were a great way to keep Ava on task and focused. These included things such as; restating the directions of a classroom task to her, reminding her of hallways rules before entering, and reminding her when shes doing a great job.
